I love chili con carne, and when I got this recipe, I could’t imagine it was going to taste so authentic and good. It’s also great because it can be frozen, my girls love it, even though it’s slightly spicy, and it’s super healthy and nutritious. A perfect meal for me.
My Aunt Nancy who lives in Miami, gave me the recipe, so Continue reading →

This second is colapsible, so it’s perfect for storage after playing. I have to find a masking tape in such cool colors, I will keep you informed if I do. This house is from the blog Ambrosia Girl.
I’ve had to take a couple of months off running, so I decided to cheer myself up getting a pair of sneakers for non running outfits.
I cannot make up my mind on which ones choosing. I was almost decided for a New Balance model, but it seems to be an old one and I haven’t managed to find a pair anywhere, so I’ve been researching. Can you help me decide?
Some people have an artist inside them, and it shows in everything they do. This is the case of my friend Elena, creator of Funghi Handmade , a blog and online Etsy shop that you are going to love.
Look at the beautiful bird cage she made for me.
You can not miss the Artists and other relatives section of her blog nor the decor posts, but what brings me crazy are the wonderful things she makes with her hands.
She is a real Papier Mâchè artist, I have a crush for her Marlin made with nautical charts.
Look at the gorgeous fish I took home with me last time we met!
She makes really pretty jewelry and wreaths. I am so lucky to have a headband she made, much like the golden one on the photo below.
Note: I prepared this dish when some weeks ago, when the weather was still cold, but soon it turned warmer and I have been waiting since then to post it. It looks that Spring wants to stay, so I post it as I wrote it then. You should make this stew even if it’s not very cold, it’s really delicious.
This chickpea soup has got to be the best dish for a chilly winter evening. But the truth is that in my house we have always eaten this kind of the dishes all year round, regardless of temperature and seasons. In fact, my siblings and I were so pleased when we were on the beach and our mother pulled out a giant thermos bottle filled with our stew for lunch, usually black beans, lentils or chickpeas. We sat in a row, and she went round giving us scoops one by one. Years later, I became aware that most people banished stews and soups of their summer diet, don’t know quite why I did the same, but the truth is I love eating a warm stew, even in August.
Mussels, cheapest protein! That sentence, so typical of grandmothers, is totally true. And is also true that mussels escape the curse, because apart from cheap, they are also delicious, healthy and not fattening!
The day I took the photos, I used French Mussesls or Bouchot Mussels, which Continue reading →
Two years ago, I spent the whole summer looking all around the web for inspiration because I wanted to build a little play house for my daughter. Play houses are the coolest thing in the world and I would have given anything for having one when I was a kid, so when I finally made one for my child, she loved it, but I loved it more!
After a lot of searching we decided to make a tipi for the garden. I want to write a tutorial on the tipi soon, but meanwhile I’ll show you some of the cutest ideas I found. Since I have got so many adorable huts, I’ll show them to you in two or three posts. (here is the second one) There are some so lovely that I wish I had four houses, to fill them up with play houses. Now that I have my sewing machine, maybe I make a folding one for the living room, I’ll let you.
Today I’m leaving you some exterior play houses, for gardens or patios, shortly I’ll come with more economical examples, made of cardboard or fabric.

The vintage caravan can not be cuter, this English girl has got in her garden. In her blog you can follow all the improvements she makes on it.
When you read the title of this recipe, you can not imagine it’s going to be so rich, and I think it may be because we are not so used to eating fresh peas and broad beans anymore. It is a shame, because they are so refreshing and sweet, so please do me a favor and when you see peas and broad beans pods in your grocery store fill a good bag and take it home. There are many ways to cook them, I ‘ll tell you some more soon, but this toast might be the most fresh and fast. Keep in mind that if it’s not with fresh beans and peas it really isn’t worth doing it.
This toast is one more of the delicious dishes you can find Continue reading →
